FAQ
FAQ
Clear answers about security, real-time behavior, incoming-call status, payments, and pairing.
What is Suishenhao?
Suishenhao turns an Android gateway phone into your personal real-SIM gateway. From abroad, you use your browser to send and receive real SMS with your own Chinese number and receive incoming-call alerts, with content encrypted throughout.
It has three components: the gateway app in China, the cloud relay service, and the overseas web client.
Can the server see my SMS content?
No. SMS content is encrypted. The server handles only encrypted information and necessary status data, and cannot read message content.
Sender numbers, message content, and replies are never written in plaintext to the server database or logs.
Will I receive SMS alerts after closing the browser?
Alerts arrive in real time while the page is open or the browser is running in the background. After the browser is fully closed, real-time push is unavailable; events that arrived meanwhile sync when you reopen it.
Reliable alerts while the browser is fully closed will require a future mobile app. This is a current real-time limitation.
Does incoming-call alerting work now?
The incoming-call path is deployed: the phone reports ringing events through Android's call-screening role, and the overseas client can alert and record them so you never miss an important call.
Can I use voice answering, recording, and sending?
Voice answering, recording, and sending are planned features and are not available in the current release.
How is it priced, and can I top up now?
Production payments are not connected and the real top-up channel is closed. The website does not collect money at this stage. The top-up/usage ledger is read-only; sign in to the client to view balances and details.
Pricing and top-up plans are not final; rely on the formal announcement. The system never accepts client-reported payment results—only server-confirmed successful payments can enter the ledger.
What equipment do I need?
Gateway phone: an Android phone kept powered on and connected to the network, with a real SIM card and the gateway app installed.
Abroad: any modern browser; no additional software installation is required.
What is the pairing code, and is it secure?
The pairing code is used only when binding a gateway phone to an account for the first time. It has eight digits, expires after ten minutes, and requires checking six device-fingerprint groups. Later valid logins to the same account on other devices are authorized automatically by the online gateway device without another pairing code.
The pairing code and fingerprint establish trust. The encrypted connection is established only after pairing succeeds.
How long does a login session last, and can I revoke it?
Login sessions last up to 90 days and use an HttpOnly cookie. You can log out from the client or revoke a session whenever needed.
Where is contact data stored?
Contact names and numbers are uploaded under the account and stored encrypted. Incoming SMS and call numbers can be added automatically or maintained manually, and contacts sync after signing in across devices.
How long is data retained?
Cloud communications history is retained for up to 30 days by default. Security and diagnostic logs are usually retained for no more than 180 days. Payment, refund, tax, and accounting records may be retained for up to seven years when needed for legal, audit, or dispute-handling purposes. Data that can be deleted is removed earlier when the user deletes it, except for limited records that must be retained by law.
See the Privacy Policy and Account & Data Deletion Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in to the overseas web client, open “Legal,” select “Delete Account,” enter your current password, and confirm permanent deletion. Deletion unbinds the gateway, revokes login sessions, stops future automatic renewals, and deletes or schedules deletion of communications history and contacts, except for billing and security records that must be retained by law.
Account deletion cannot be undone. See the Account & Data Deletion Policy for details.
How do I sync SMS?
After installing the app on the gateway phone, granting the default-SMS role, and completing pairing, newly received SMS and messages sent through the overseas client sync automatically. Updates are real time while the web page is open or the browser is running in the background. If the gateway is briefly offline, events are queued locally and continue syncing after connectivity returns.
Messages that already existed on the phone before installation and pairing are not imported automatically. Messages received while the browser is fully closed sync the next time you open the client.
Which phones are supported?
The gateway app supports brand-independent Android phones running Android 10 (API 29) or later, with cellular and SMS capability and support for becoming the default SMS app. Background-operation and battery-saving behavior varies by manufacturer, so notifications, autostart, and background operation must be allowed.
An iPhone cannot be used as the gateway phone. Overseas users can access the web client from a phone or computer browser.
Which carriers are supported?
The system is not tied to a specific carrier. It is designed to work with physical SIM cards from China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom that can send and receive standard SMS. Actual availability depends on the line status, plan, SMS permissions, carrier network, and local policy.
On a dual-SIM phone, confirm the correct default SMS SIM in Android settings. Whether verification codes can be used with a bank, social platform, or other third party remains subject to that provider's and the carrier's rules.
What if I cannot provide stable long-term internet access in China?
Place the gateway phone in a trusted location with continuous power, use stable Wi-Fi, and keep working cellular data available as a network-switching option. Allow the app to start automatically, run in the background, and operate without aggressive battery restrictions. Stable cellular data can also be used when fixed broadband is unavailable.
The gateway phone must remain powered on with at least one working internet connection. Real-time sending and receiving are unavailable during an outage; events already in the local queue continue syncing after connectivity returns.
Can other people see information on my gateway?
Someone who is not signed in and has not passed account, browser-device, and gateway-ownership verification cannot access your information through Suishenhao. Communications content is encrypted, and the gateway operator interface reduces casual access to the phone.
However, a person who has the unlock password, can enter the Android desktop, or controls an unlocked phone, debugging access, or system privileges may still be able to view local device information. Keep the gateway in a secure place, do not share account or gateway unlock passwords, and retain Android's system lock-screen protection.
How do I remotely delete SMS records from the gateway?
In the overseas client, open “SMS,” select one or more records, choose “Delete selected SMS,” and confirm. When the gateway is online, the deletion is synchronized and removes the corresponding records held by the Suishenhao gateway app. If the gateway is offline, it processes the deletion after reconnecting.
Deleting a record cannot cancel an SMS that is queued for sending or already being dispatched. Records independently held by Android's system SMS store, the SIM, a carrier, or another third party are not guaranteed to be deleted by this action and may need to be removed locally on the phone.
Can sending SMS incur charges?
Sending real SMS may incur carrier charges according to your SIM plan in China. Before sending, the client asks you to confirm the recipient and content and warns about possible charges.
What if the gateway phone loses power or connectivity?
The gateway phone must remain powered on and connected. If it goes offline, events first enter a local pending queue and replay in sequence with deduplication after recovery. Queued events are retained, but real-time sending and receiving are unavailable while the phone is offline.
